Spätzle with Cabbage and Bacon

- Heat a dollop of butter or olive oil in a large frying pan. Fry the spätzle on medium-high heat for 10 minutes until they are starting to brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add the bacon bits and diced onion to the pan and fry for 3 minutes. Add the chopped cabbage and fry for another 3 minutes. Add the cream and 50 mL of warm water, cover with a lid and simmer on low temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Add the spätzle back into the pan and stir in alongside the grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with roasted hazelnuts and chives sprinkled on top.
